Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide, instruct, and mentor maintenance staff in all job-related aspects, emphasizing proper maintenance techniques, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Oversee maintenance, installation, and repair of essential equipment and building support systems crucial for plant and office operations.
  • Provide direct supervision to hourly employees within the maintenance department.
  • Manage the department's annual budget, including ongoing purchase order processing and vendor approvals.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to ensure comprehensive maintenance training and support across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA-required safety training and administration within the department.
  • Work closely with external vendors to promptly resolve any issues.
  • Perform various maintenance duties including troubleshooting, fabricating, and adjusting equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain control over departmental inventory.
  • Diagnose and address equipment malfunctions and operational challenges.
  • Execute mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks as required.
  • Coordinate start-up and shutdown operations of plant equipment with Maintenance Technicians.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
  • Actively work to resolve identified safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate departmental documentation as required.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and quality system procedures.
  • Supervise, develop, and coach team members in job techniques, production methods, and quality assurance.
  • Foster strong relationships with employees through continuous communication and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and departmental goals.
  • Promote a culture of communication and teamwork, prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Work alongside Human Resources on personnel matters, including performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews in accordance with company guidelines, including recommendations for pay increases.
  • Develop training content specific to job roles and support on-the-job training programs, ensuring compliance with training requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and expectations among team members.
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and engage team members in implementing solutions.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to sharp parts, heavy equipment, and varying temperature and humidity levels.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Potential exposure to various chemicals used in processes.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical or a related mechanical field.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems gained through hands-on experience.
  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience and leadership experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
  • Preferred: Experience in lean manufacturing and ISO certification.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to lead technical problem-solving efforts.
  • Attention to detail to identify potential issues early.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
