Job Summary

LA Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Plant Operations Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our facilities equipment and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities to maintain equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Operate and maintain systems such as HVAC, chemical distribution, and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Handle and transport bulk chemical containers, and change at point of use equipment, following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Calibrate transmitters and/or sensors, ensuring accurate readings and system performance.
  • Understand and follow equipment-specific operation and written maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Proficient computer skills, including email, Excel, and Word programs, to effectively communicate and document maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve problems efficiently to minimize downtime, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operating permits, and company policies, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Train and certify to site-specific safety training programs, maintaining certifications such as respirator, hazardous materials handling, OSHA required training, forklift, and aerial lifts.
Requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Monitor and operate mechanical, control, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment and systems are in optimal working condition.
  • Ability to work independently or within a group, maintaining effective communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Certify knowledge of regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to work within office software systems, including email, Excel, and Word programs, to effectively communicate and document maintenance activities.
  • Work in a team environment, maintaining effective communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Willingness to be trained to operate Fire Protection and Hazardous Gas Monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of equipment and systems.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs repetitively, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance and repair of equipment and systems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring minimal disruption to production and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Education Requirements
  • Associate Degree or Trade certifications in one of the following areas preferred: Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing/Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Program, and 4 years of related experience.
  • 6 years of Equivalent Experience in lieu of degree or certification in one of the following areas: Operating, Maintaining, Repair, or Installation of Industrial mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Chemicals, Hazardous gas, material handling systems.
