POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to our passengers, whether at the ticket counter or on the station floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Welcome and assist passengers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Support customers with special requirements, including assistance with luggage and boarding procedures.
  • Accurately report ticket sales, safeguard company funds, and prepare necessary documentation while understanding fare structures.
  • Maintain and care for ticketing equipment and other station-related tools.
  • Ensure information displays are current and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
  • Provide clear verbal and written information to passengers regarding schedules, fares, and other travel-related inquiries.
  • Facilitate timely boarding of trains, verifying ticketing and compliance with baggage policies.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the station and surrounding areas for all stakeholders.
  • Assist passengers during boarding and alighting, including necessary ADA support.
  • Coordinate alternative transportation and lodging in case of service interruptions.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance duties to uphold station standards.
  • Display all required signage and notices appropriately.
  • Manage baggage processing and pricing for shipments.
  • Handle station funds, deposits, and lost & found items as assigned.
  • Fill in for routine vacancies as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor while interacting with customers.
  • Comfortably use public address systems and Amtrak's computer systems.
  • Oversee Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) as necessary.
  • Adhere to the company's uniform and grooming standards to present a professional image.
  • Participate in required training related to customer service and safety protocols.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with baggage operations and the ability to provide accurate information.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate baggage carts and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with Amtrak ticket processing and fare structures.
  • Proficient in using Amtrak's ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of Passenger Information Display System operations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Maintain a positive and approachable attitude.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and using public address systems.
