The Department of Veterans Affairs is in search of a qualified Podiatrist dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in conjunction with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The selected candidate will undertake specific responsibilities within their authorized scope of practice.

Key Aspects of the Role:

  • Financial support through the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program, with award amounts reaching up to $200,000 and eligibility spanning one to five years.
  • Priority consideration will be given to internal facility employees before external selections are made.
  • Flexible work schedules may be available, including rotating call coverage, weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position does not provide options for telecommuting or virtual work.
  • Recruitment or relocation incentives are not available for this role.
  • A financial disclosure report is not a requirement for this position.

Qualifications Required:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Possess a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a license to practice Podiatry in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required in accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d).

Physical Demands:

  • The role necessitates visual acuity, acute hearing, clear and distinct speech, and manual dexterity.
  • Exposure to infected patients and contaminated materials may occur.
  • The candidate must be a mature, adaptable, and sensible individual capable of functioning effectively in high-pressure situations.
