As a Medical Technologist, you will play a vital role in our laboratory team, working closely with experienced professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of routine and complex tests in one or more laboratory sections, demonstrating a thorough understanding of laboratory operations and theoretical aspects of test procedures.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to process specimens, perform testing, and report results, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
  • Accommodate increased workloads during peak periods, maintaining the quality of results and adhering to established guidelines.
  • Recognize critical values and reportable results according to protocol, ensuring timely and accurate communication with authorized caregivers.
  • Document all activities, including quality control, in accordance with section protocols and laboratory information system requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory technologies and procedures, including autoverification and associated technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to laboratory exposure control plans and standard precautions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree, with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) within one year of hire, meeting CLIA requirements for moderate and high complexity testing.
  • Instrumentation experience and knowledge of laboratory operations, including theoretical aspects of test procedures.
