Job Summary:

To provide high-quality patient care that is centered around the individual's needs and preferences, while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Fiscal Responsibility:
    a. Utilize resources efficiently to minimize costs and optimize budget allocation.
    b. Manage time effectively to complete duties and delegate tasks as needed to promote productivity and cost savings.
    c. Stay up-to-date with product and practice changes to apply best practices and reduce non-salary costs.
  • Quality:
    a. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
    b. Demonstrate critical thinking and multitasking skills to provide complete and accurate documentation.
    c. Practice accountability and apply evidence-based practices to deliver optimum care and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Community Service and Patient Satisfaction:
    a. Represent Hendricks Regional Health positively in the community and at sponsored events.
    b. Contribute to achieving patient satisfaction through established practices of patient rounding, timely response to needs, and service recovery.
    c. Maintain a therapeutic environment through noise reduction and support for healthcare students.
  • Patient Safety:
    a. Incorporate safe patient care practices into daily routines, including fall prevention and medication administration.
    b. Utilize the event management system to report near misses and participate in proactive processes to reduce errors.
    c. Apply principles of Just Culture, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
  • Professional Growth:
    a. Demonstrate proficiency in charge RN role, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.
    b. Maintain licensure and seek opportunities for growth through certification, clinical advancement programs, and nursing shared leadership opportunities.
    c. Attend educational offerings and stay current with practice standards.
  • Customer Service:
    a. Provide care based on Relationship Based Care and unit-based nursing care models.
    b. Meet customer service standards and address ethical issues.
    c. Exhibit excellent guest relations and show courtesy, compassion, and respect.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing or have a minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred or required within five years from date of hire.
  • Area-specific required education may be obtained upon hire and maintained.

Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nurses' Registration and Nursing Education as an active Registered Nurse.
