Job Description

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading system development and vendor implementation efforts, from project initiation through post-implementation support.

This role will involve initiating efforts, leading internal IT and cross-functional teams, engaging vendors and company stakeholders, and monitoring and controlling all project activity throughout the project life-cycle. You will have management responsibility over several IT employees and contractors.

As a Systems Specialist, you will act as the liaison between product owners, architects, development team members, trainers, testers, and analysts to build and maintain enterprise-level software solutions. You will also be responsible for working on all aspects of new applications development as well as vendor systems implementations, including planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, training, implementation, and ongoing technical support.

This role requires a strong understanding of business analysis, project management, and technical skills, including experience with structured query language (SQL), Oracle RDBMS development, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) ETLs. You must be able to transfer knowledge to peers and train subordinates, plan, organize, and lead meetings, and develop documentation that will be consumed by users of diverse backgrounds and skills.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing incidents, triaging problems, remedying, analyzing root cause, and implementing incident prevention using techniques such as Human Performance Improvement. You will also participate in disaster recovery drills and lead significant portions of IT process improvement teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system development and vendor implementation efforts

Requirements:

  • Master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or Associate's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED and 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with structured query language (SQL), Oracle RDBMS development, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) ETLs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Formal training in project management
  • Formal project management and/or business analysis skills
  • Experience developing applications and/or databases
  • Experience implementing packaged software
  • Experience as a dedicated participant on a medium to large-scale systems development project
  • Experience supporting REST APIs
  • Experience working with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Service Now
