About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced and energetic professional to care for our young toddlers. As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that encourages children's intellectual, psychological, and physical growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging games and activities that cater to each child's developmental needs
  • Develop daily, weekly lesson plans, goals, and newsletters to track progress
  • Provide basic care and caregiving activities, ensuring a safe and clean environment
  • Evaluate and observe children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones, maintaining portfolios for each student
  • Foster a supportive relationship with the director and colleagues, adhering to ODJFS licensing requirements and OHIO Early Standards
  • Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment
  • Create safe diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas, assisting children with personal hygiene skills
  • Serve as a role model for children in attitude, speech, and actions
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect, encouraging self-confidence and problem-solving skills
  • Interact with children through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, outside play, and free play
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the director

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider
  • Associate Degree/CDA or Bachelors Degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred but not required
  • Must meet quarterly/annual continuing education courses
  • Strong understanding of child development
  • Professionalism, patience, and kindness towards staff members, directors, supervisors, and parents
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Background check, first aid, and CPR certification
