We are seeking a qualified Lead Grants Coordinator to become an integral part of our team, overseeing grants and contracts management, and spearheading the financial administration of a significant federal grant.
This grant is aimed at promoting community-led urban forestry initiatives in Seattle's most underserved neighborhoods, particularly in low-canopy heat islands that are adversely affected by environmental pollution and socioeconomic disparities.
You will be responsible for all facets of grant compliance, financial oversight, contract management, and data analysis and reporting.Your role will involve direct collaboration with community organizations and City partners to ensure adherence to Federal and City regulations while measuring program outcomes.
Your contributions will be crucial in ensuring the responsible management of grant resources and facilitating data-driven decision-making.This is a term-limited position that offers comprehensive benefits until the end of 2028.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Provide expert financial oversight and analysis for complex grants and projects.
Monitor and forecast various spending plans across multiple funding sources and partners.
Develop and maintain financial compliance tracking tools and reporting systems.
Assist in budget preparation and interpretation.
Reconcile grant expenditures with the Finance Manager.
Grants Administration Leadership:
Serve as the authority on federal grants, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Establish grant administration policies and procedures.
Prepare compliance and status reports for leadership review.
Ensure timely submission of grant-related reports.
Collaborate with program staff and external stakeholders.
Identify and implement strategies to enhance grant administration and reporting processes.
Contract Management:
Adopt an inclusive approach to developing and managing contracts with sub-recipients and consultants.
Oversee the monitoring and processing of invoices.
Data Collection and Evaluation:
Establish systems for data collection to analyze and report on program outcomes.
Train partners on financial and outcome data reporting using tools such as Excel, Tableau, and ArcGIS.

Experience and Expertise Required:
Financial Analysis:
Experience in managing and analyzing financial data, monitoring spending plans, and budgeting.
Grant Compliance:
Proven track record of ensuring adherence to federal grant regulations and guidelines.
Contract Administration:
Experience in developing and managing contracts, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting sub-recipients with varying levels of federal grant experience.
Reporting and Evaluation:
Ability to organize and analyze program data to inform strategic decisions.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using software tools for statistical and spatial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a combination of training, experience, or education that provides the necessary skills to perform the job effectively:
Five years of professional experience in budget management, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields.
Four years of professional experience in budget management, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields AND an associate degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
Three years of professional experience in budget management, financial analysis, accounting, or related fields AND a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
This position is classified as a Senior Finance Analyst and is eligible for overtime. The salary range for this classification is competitive, with new employees starting at the entry-level pay rate.We offer a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work three days a week.
