Job Description

Job Summary:

We're seeking a dedicated Customer Service Specialist to join our team of experienced professionals at Herc-U-Lift, Inc.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support in a variety of parts ordering functions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building strong relationships with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to all customers, with the goal of increasing sales through face-to-face interactions.
  • Assisting customers and technicians by researching and identifying the correct items needed per request.
  • Coordinating with local vendors to ensure parts are being located with the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Offering customer service and support to all customers and technicians.
  • Creating and submitting Purchase Orders for needed items.
  • Greeting customers as they enter the parts counter and providing them assistance with their needs.
  • Understanding vendor purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Issuing, monitoring, and processing parts returns and issuing credits based on company policies.
  • Billing invoices and processing transactions via card, check, or cash.
  • Assisting with inventory control.
  • Assisting in the creation of customers' sales and work order quotes.
  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Handling customer complaints, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; following up to ensure resolution.
  • Keeping detailed records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.
  • Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary.
  • Aiding in the processing of all daily incoming and outgoing shipments, including the use of UPS, Speedee, and FedEx shipping software.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
  • Proven customer support experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to process and keep accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior customer support experience.
  • Prior industry experience preferred.
  • Previous parts experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 100 lbs.
