Instructional Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Support Specialist to join our team at California Schools Talent Collaborative. As an Instructional Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing support to our instructional program, working closely with teachers and students to implement research-based interventions and achieve academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide implementation and modeling of research-based interventions in various educational settings, adhering to established individual educational plans.
- Support instructional staff and students in achieving academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals, including assisting with behavior modification and intervention strategies.
- Document activities in accordance with established guidelines and/or regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and files.
- Provide general classroom support, including assisting with lesson planning, preparing instructional materials, and presenting learning concepts.
- Collaborate with instructional staff and supervisor to achieve student and program goals, communicating progress and needs assessments.
- Implement behavioral plans designed by instructional staff for students with behavior disorders or other conditions, providing a consistent and supportive environment.
- Monitor assigned students, recording data on academic and/or behavioral information, and providing documentation and communication to appropriate personnel.
- Perform general clerical functions, including filing, copying, faxing, laminating, and collating, to support instructional activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide instructional support to students under the direction of instructional staff, one-on-one or in small groups, to support academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals.
- Respond to emergency situations, resolving immediate safety concerns, deescalating situations, and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of paid or volunteer experience working with children in an organized setting preferred.
- Some experience working with students with autism and/or experience in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) highly desirable.
- Ability to work under limited supervision, following standardized practices and/or methods, and providing information and/or advising others.
- Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, seeing and hearing to exchange information, and significant fine finger dexterity.
