Position Overview

The Skilled Client Support Specialist role within the Ameriprise Advisor Center (AAC) is dedicated to providing exceptional assistance and service to both clients and advisors, ensuring a superior client experience across the designated region. This involves collaborating with colleagues and regional teams to engage clients in additional business opportunities, executing transactions, and achieving first call resolution for incoming client inquiries. This is accomplished by utilizing the necessary tools and adhering to AAC standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client interactions, including transforming service inquiries into sales opportunities from incoming client calls. Prepare Client Relationship Managers for sales discussions and client engagements.
  • Achieve first call resolution, establish accounts, complete and process documentation, arrange meetings, execute routine clerical tasks, respond to information requests, address client concerns, and oversee the recovery process. Facilitate and process transactions on behalf of advisors and product specialists while supporting the Client Relationship Manager in the financial planning process. Collect and document information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide regional support on point work and offer peer-to-peer coaching to regional Client Support Associates on all point work.
  • Act as a liaison between Product Specialists and Client Relationship Managers to develop tailored recommendations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance industry knowledge, product expertise, sales, and service skills. Maintain all relevant FINRA and other licenses and requirements up to date.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Current FINRA Series 7 license.
  • State securities (S63 or S66), state IAR (S65 or S66) (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Must possess or obtain Minnesota Life, Accident/Health Insurance, and Variable Contracts license within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous experience in delivering exceptional client service.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and prioritize effectively.
  • Process-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of financial services products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a highly professional demeanor consistent with Ameriprise values and brand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • CFP or CRPC designation.
  • Previous sales experience or exposure is preferred.
