Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Perishable Department Associate to join our team at Food Lion. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of product quality, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and courteous interactions with other associates
  • Understand and utilize company tools, such as ACIS and CAO, to optimize inventory management and ordering
  • Receive and process deliveries, rotate and store products, and ensure proper product levels in the Perishable Department
  • Process beef and grinds, wrap, label, and stock meat cases, and assemble and disassemble the grinder as needed
  • Properly clean and sanitize the department, maintain variety and layout standards, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, and maintain a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress code
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems and meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Working Conditions

The Perishable Department Associate will work in a fast-paced retail environment, standing 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances, and performing repetitive hand and arm motions. The associate will be required to tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time and handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials.
