Market Development Manager

The Market Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and identifying new customer opportunities for the marine market in the southeast region. This individual will spend most of their time visiting customers and prospects in the field, focusing on increasing market share.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify New Opportunities: Identify decision-makers within prospective organizations and build relationships into sales opportunities.
  • Retain and Grow Existing Accounts: Present new solutions and services to customers to maintain and grow current customer contracts.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct daily calls and face-to-face meetings with customers and prospects.
  • Develop Relationships: Collaborate with regional locations to promote products and maintain distribution channels.
  • Attend Tradeshows: Ability and willingness to travel for trade shows, product demonstrations, and customer meetings.
  • Develop Marketing Strategy: Monitor industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to proactively add value to current customers and prospects. Assist in developing promotional materials and plans to increase TPI's visibility in the market.
  • Create Quotes and Contracts: Calculate customer pricing from material and fabrication costs based on customer specifications.
  • Communicate: Enter all call notes and quotes into the CRM in conjunction with regional locations to ensure accurate and up-to-date customer correspondence.
Requirements:
  • Passion for Consultative Sales: Passion for a consultative, relationship-based sales role.
  • 'Hunter' Mentality: Results-driven, high sense of urgency, and self-motivated.
  • CRM and Inventory Tracking: Comfort with CRM and inventory tracking software (Epicor).
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge and experience with plastics, distribution, fabrication, and supply chain.

  • Desire to Learn: Strong desire to learn and grow.
