Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, and other mechanical and electrical systems
  • Repair doors, windows, vents, drains, railings, and other building components
  • Control emergencies such as propane gas and gasoline leaks and stoppages, electrical malfunctions, and other hazardous conditions
  • Coordinate major repairs, installation of new equipment, and other projects requiring agency personnel
  • Supervise service area equipment operators by instructing staff in proper operating and maintenance procedures and techniques
  • Maintain inspection records and stock part identification breakdown reports
  • Operate tractor plow in snow removal operations
Requirements
  • Four years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical trades
  • Possession of a Wastewater Treatment certificate issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
  • Possession of a Water Treatment Operator certificate issued by the New York State Department of Health
  • Class B Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles
