Job Title: Transplant Anesthesiologist

VCU Health is seeking a skilled Transplant Anesthesiologist to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing transplant procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care for transplant patients.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Department Chair or delegate.
  • Manage transplant anesthesia and general anesthesia cases throughout the VCU Health System.
  • Participate in clinical trials and pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently.
  • Teach and mentor residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others in a clinical setting.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA board eligible/certified in anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
