**Job Overview**

The Production Assembler is responsible for constructing components and products according to specified guidelines. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, the endurance to stand for extended periods, and the physical strength to lift weights exceeding 50 lbs. Key responsibilities include visually inspecting parts before assembly, preparing jobs for assembly, verifying part availability through computer systems, and retrieving components from inventory.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Utilize assembly tools tailored for designated workstations, including presses, drilling machines, testing fixtures, and assembly jigs.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and final products, applying adhesives and lubricants as directed by work instructions.
  • Thoroughly clean and prepare surfaces for labeling, ensuring proper application of labels.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, which includes disposing of waste, sanitizing surfaces, and keeping the floor clean.
  • Rework any defective products as required.

**Position Type**

This role is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a duration of 4 months.

**Work Environment**

The workplace is organized and clean, although it is not climate-controlled, leading to warmer conditions in summer and cooler temperatures in winter. Employees may wear knee-length shorts. The organization specializes in manufacturing connections and attachments for emergency responders and air monitoring systems for fire trucks. The company values its partnerships with first responders and actively engages in outreach initiatives. The afternoon shift operates from 2 PM to 11 PM, with initial training on the day shift (8 AM to 4 PM) lasting 1-3 weeks. Mandatory overtime of 2 hours daily is expected, which can be scheduled before or after the regular shift based on personal preference. Some Saturday work may be required at the end of the month.
