We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Department Chair of Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health at Governors State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department's budget, curriculum, accreditation, personnel, and enrollment.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health is one of seven academic departments in the College of Health and Human Services. The department offers a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Community Health and a Master of Health Sciences in Addictions Studies program, which is accredited by the Illinois Certification Board and the National Addiction Studies Accreditation Commission.
Responsibilities- Manage the department's budget and resources
- Develop and implement curriculum and accreditation plans
- Lead and manage department personnel
- Oversee enrollment and student success initiatives
- Doctoral degree in Public Health, Addictions Sciences, or related field
- At least three years of experience in an educational administrative leadership role
- Experience with accreditation management
- Academic credentials commensurate with an appointment at the rank of associate or full professor with tenure
- An active scholarly agenda with current or previous extramural funding
- Experience managing ICB and NASAC accreditation
- Experience with CEPH accreditation
