Job Title: Activity Assistant

Join our team at Hammond Glen IL as an Activity Assistant, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. As a key member of our Life Enrichment team, you will assist in planning, implementing, and promoting activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Life Enrichment Director in planning and coordinating wellness and recreation programs, ensuring they meet state and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement programs that encourage socialization, engagement, and high-quality of life for our residents.
  • Provide hands-on involvement in programs during scheduled times, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.
  • Coordinate efforts of the Ambassadors Club, resident council meetings, and resident food council meetings.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly activities calendars, ensuring residents are informed and engaged.
  • Utilize announcement boards to inform residents of daily activities and events.
  • Invite residents to activities, ensuring they are reminded and escorted as necessary.
  • Assist with the proper use of fitness equipment, reporting any issues to the Manager or Supervisor.
  • Facilitate socialization among residents, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and decorating community spaces for special events, holidays, and seasons.
  • Ensure Activity Room and supply storage areas are clean and organized, adhering to safe and sanitary standards.
  • Coordinate transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community, utilizing community motor vehicles as needed.
  • Assist with social media content and maintenance of the Community Facebook page.
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • A commercial driver's license may be required for this position; if so, a CDL must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (in English), both verbally and in writing, with residents and staff.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful approach with coworkers, working collaboratively as a team player.
  • Possess organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work under time constraints.
  • Satisfactorily pass the company's and state-regulated criminal record clearance, health screening, and TB clearance (if applicable).
