About the Role

The University of Kentucky College of Public Health and the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement seek a seasoned Director of Philanthropy to lead the College's fundraising efforts, steward donor relationships, and deepen alumni engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to advance the College's mission and goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major gift donors, alumni, and corporate partners
  • Collaborate with the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement to identify and pursue new funding opportunities
  • Manage and participate in all initiatives related to the College's donor portfolio, including annual giving, legacy giving, and grants
  • Engage in persuasive and sophisticated philanthropic giving conversations with major gift donors and prospects
Requirements
  • Minimum of seven years of professional experience in fundraising, development, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in building and sustaining relationships that foster major gift giving
  • Strong understanding of person-to-person relationships and the ability to articulate the vision and priorities of the College and University
  • Familiarity with planned giving, charitable gift arrangements, and marketing/philanthropic messaging
  • Experience working in an environment with accountability-based metrics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals
