We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the collection of plasma from donors, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and collect plasma from donors in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor the pheresis process and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Evaluate vein performance and make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
  • May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma and ensure all donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues, and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to assure continuous turnover and alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
  • May provide guidance and technical training about processes and procedures to donor floor staff and other staff as required.
  • Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing and ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) months experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications, understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information. The ability to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation is also required. The role may involve standing and walking up to 100% of the time, reaching, bending, kneeling, and having a high level of manual dexterity. Occasionally, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds may be required. The role is fast-paced with frequent interruptions and may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for specific tasks or in certain areas. Overtime and extended hours may be required to support center operational needs.
