Job Summary

Med Center Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in assisting the surgical team during operative and invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and arranging equipment for procedures.
  • Scrubs in and dons sterile gown and gloves as prescribed.
  • Set up and maintain the surgical field, collaborating with nurses and physicians.
  • Conduct pre and post-surgery patient care, including shaving, transporting, catheterizations, and applying dressings.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of IUSS autoclaves and proper application of sterile technique.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair surgical equipment.
  • Process and store instruments and equipment used to perform surgery.
  • Ensure inventory records are up to date.
  • Assist in preparation and labeling of pathology specimens.
  • Communicate any problems noted with instrument sets.
  • Assist with cleaning the surgery room.
  • Maintain accurate records of the surgical procedure.
  • Take counts in a timely manner and follow policies and procedures for counts.
  • Remain calm and follow directions in emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or current enrollment in Med Center Health's Surgical Tech Program required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
