Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing the sterile field and instrumentation for surgical procedures
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and employees
  • Assisting the surgical team during procedures, including passing instruments, sponges, and sutures
  • Maintaining aseptic techniques and actively monitoring situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
  • Providing comfort and support for pre-operative patients
  • Transporting patients to and from the surgical suite
  • Positioning patients according to the type of surgery
  • Assisting in the monitoring of patients during procedures
  • Providing age and culturally appropriate care
  • Orienting and mentoring new staff members
  • Following Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech Program or equivalent training
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist, required and maintained
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time
  • Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, obtained within 30 days of employment start date
