About the Job

RH2 Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Bothell, WA. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will work closely with clients on projects involving structural designs, from conceptualization to construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop structural designs for various projects, including foundations, steel, timber, masonry, concrete, and prestressed concrete structures.
  • Provide quality assurance and quality control review of structural design drawings and calculations.
  • Develop design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
  • Function as Project Manager for projects that require structural expertise.
  • Lead marketing and interview efforts to expand client base and service offerings.
  • Participate in industry groups and associations to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, assigning and directing work, monitoring performance, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in public sector consulting.
  • Experience with multiple disciplines, including general civil, structural, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience managing municipal and public-sector projects, including federal, state, city, and county projects.
  • Reservoir design experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D, as well as Finite Element Analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to form and enhance business relationships.
  • Ability to manage projects from design through construction, providing exceptional services.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams in multiple offices and independently apply sound professional judgment.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, and understand English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Word, at an intermediate skill level.
Education:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with an emphasis in structural engineering.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
  • Current P.E. license in Washington or Oregon.
  • Current S.E. license in Washington or Oregon.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain P.E. and S.E. license in the other state if not currently licensed in both Washington and Oregon.
