Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Ethnic Studies

California State University, Sacramento is seeking a part-time lecturer in Ethnic Studies to teach courses in Asian American Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American Studies, Pan African Studies, and General Ethnic Studies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Ethnic Studies and experience in teaching courses with 45-50 students.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in Ethnic Studies, including Asian American Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American Studies, Pan African Studies, and General Ethnic Studies.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • M.A. in Ethnic Studies or related discipline with Ethnic Studies training.
  • Teaching experience in person or online.
  • Teaching experience in the discipline of Ethnic Studies, including Asian American Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American Studies, Pan African Studies, and General Ethnic Studies.
  • Ability to teach courses with 45-50 students.
  • An interdisciplinary approach to curriculum.
  • Ability to teach General Education (GE) courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies or in related discipline with training and/or teaching experience in Ethnic Studies.
  • Teaching experience in the discipline of Ethnic Studies, including Asian American Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American Studies, Pan African Studies, and General Ethnic Studies.
