Job Summary

The Special Assistant to the President and CEO is a key strategic partner responsible for supporting the ongoing development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan for the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board (GPTLHB). This role involves high-level project management to implement the strategic planning cycle, providing executive support, and ensuring effective alignment and completion of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the President and CEO to develop, execute, and manage the organization's strategic planning and annual report process.
  • Lead the implementation of the strategic planning cycle and annual report, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Monitor progress toward strategic goals and objectives, providing regular updates to the President and CEO and senior leadership.
  • Manage cross-functional projects and initiatives that support the strategic plan and annual report, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the successful completion of strategic and annual reporting initiatives.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the President and CEO, including preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating executive meetings, strategic retreats, and Board meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the President and CEO, senior leadership, Board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Create a streamlined approach to ensure all projects and initiatives are aligned with the strategic plan and organizational goals.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to promote a cohesive and integrated approach to strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress of strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for the President and CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tribal leaders, community members, partners, and funders.
  • Represent the President and CEO in meetings and events as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support strategic decision-making by the President and CEO.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments as directed by the President and CEO.

Requirements:

  • Relate well and work collaboratively with coworkers and all levels of staff in a professional manner.
  • Familiarity and/or experience working with American Indian populations and respect for and knowledge of traditional, cultural, and spiritual practices of diverse American Indian communities, as well as an ability to work with other culturally and ethnically diverse populations.

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends and overnight or extended travel as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to community members, consumers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Proficiency with computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Internet technologies.
  • Valid driver's license must be kept current, and certificates, credentials or licenses must be kept current and consistent with regulations required by applicable federal, state and/or grant regulations.
  • Ability to promote an alcohol-, tobacco- and drug-free lifestyle.
  • Embrace modes of appearance and attire that reflect a professional presence.
  • Adhere to GPTLHB policies and procedures.
