We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Engineer I to join our team at the Maryland Department of Transportation. Key Responsibilities- Conduct engineering duties in support of project development, highway infrastructure, asset management, construction projects, and condition assessments.
- Perform hands-on forensic evaluations of structures, prepare inspection reports, and make repair recommendations under the direction of an experienced engineer.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and OMT personnel to ensure project success.
- Review, understand, and explain project documents, specifications, and drawings to contractors in an effective manner.
- Attend pre-construction and progressive meetings and act as a liaison between District, OMT, and contractors.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Welding Engineering.
- No experience required, but registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland or a state with comparable requirements is considered equivalent to the education requirement.
