Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist

Job SummaryThe Medical Support Specialist will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Eligibility: Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Donor Reaction Management: Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s) that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
- Donor Deferral: Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Post Donation Information: Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI).
- Employee Support: Assist the EHS program as required, conduct pre-placement evaluations, and maintain employee medical records.
- Education: Graduate of a recognized educational program.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Certifications: Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned, CPR and AED certification required.
