We are seeking an innovative scholar to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Maternal Health and Demography at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The successful candidate will make significant contributions in the areas of maternal health and demographic methods in a diverse, multidisciplinary department with a long history of excellence in education and research.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and teaching activity at and around the intersection of reproductive health, maternal health, adolescent health, fertility, population health, the impact of sex and gender on health, and social determinants of health, particularly the impact of racial and ethnic disparities on maternal health.
- Examine these areas globally through a life cycle approach.
- Teach effectively in the areas of maternal health and demography, advise and mentor a diverse group of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and contribute to collaborative research, service, and teaching related to maternal health and demography.
- Expand and develop maternal health within the population health sciences.
The Department of Global Health and Population (GHP) seeks to improve global health through education, research, and service from a population-based perspective. Our approach combines the analysis of population and health using quantitative and qualitative methods, the study of policies that affect health, and a concern with the politics and ethics of health and development.
