Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizes scientific methodologies to identify, prevent, and address pulmonary and cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Coordinates and administers medical gas delivery systems.
  • Delivers aerosolized therapies as required.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the maintenance of both natural and artificial airways.
  • Engages in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a member of a multidisciplinary emergency response team.
  • Conducts pulmonary function assessments, including spirometry and other related tests.
  • Executes exercise oximetry evaluations.
  • Educates patients and families on respiratory care practices and related health issues.
  • Provides consultative services and educational support on respiratory matters to fellow healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Performs routine upkeep, daily calibration, and quality assurance checks on advanced pulmonary function testing apparatus.
  • Documents all pertinent information regarding patient care, treatments administered, and treatment responses in the electronic medical record system.
  • Maintains essential departmental records, including competencies and certifications.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Director of the Respiratory Care Department.
Qualifications:
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Certification from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Strong technical competencies.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
  • Possession of an active, unencumbered Respiratory Therapist license in Texas.
  • One year of experience with Epic systems.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC.
Requirements:
  • COVID vaccination with two shots and a booster.
