We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our team at Alameda Health System. As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Patient Care: Accompany, assist, and represent the needs of patients to other healthcare providers. Administer medications, provide skin and wound care, and perform other essential patient care activities.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify nursing care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient. Prepare required records and reports to ensure accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Gather and assess patient information to meet nursing needs. Assist and consult with physicians in the performance of procedures and diagnostic tests. Contract with physicians and other departments to obtain or provide patient information.
- Supervise and Mentor: Organize, supervise, and make adjustments to the quality of care provided by coworkers. Assume responsibility as a team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
- Promote a Healthy Environment: Participate in promoting a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Set up and control the environment essential for infection control.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in the implementation of patient care standards, infection control standards, and quality assurance criteria. Assist with conducting studies and participate in unit and other meetings.
- Provide Education and Support: Provide and evaluate patient care established standards and criteria in conformity with the nursing care plan. Monitor patients for significant and critical changes and initiate procedures as required. Document care given according to set standards and at required intervals. Interpret and explain procedures, regimens, and services to patients and families.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Six months experience as a Registered Nurse I with AHS or the equivalent of one year full-time recent experience at a comparable level in a minimum 100-bed hospital or in the area of specialty.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
