Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Marles Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to order, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation
    • Prepare and cook food to order in the pantry, fry, and/or stations in the kitchen.
    • Food prep including slicing, cutting, chopping food daily.
  • Station Setup and Maintenance
    • Set up station according to restaurant guidelines.
    • Restock items as needed.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Clean work area and food preparation equipment.
    • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
  • Customer Service
    • Respond promptly to customer needs.
    • Respond to requests for service and assistance.
  • Safety and Quality
    • Observe safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
    • Determine appropriate action beyond guidelines and report unsafe conditions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Proven Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
  • Ability to Read English and Comprehend Simple Instructions
  • Familiarity with Food Handling, Safety, and Other Restaurant Guidelines

Education and Experience

We prefer candidates with:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous Restaurant Experience
  • Basic Understanding of Professional Cooking and Knife Handling Skills
  • Valid Food Worker Card

Work Environment

This role requires:

  • Prolonged Periods of Standing, Walking, and Working Around Kitchen Equipment
  • Lifting Up to 50 Pounds at Times
  • Comfortable Working Long Hours, Including Nights and Weekends
  • Fast-Paced Environment with Moderate Noise Level
