Your Role

A clinical registered dietitian is essential in a skilled nursing care environment, providing expertise and compassion in formulating personalized nutrition strategies for residents. Their extensive knowledge of dietary needs ensures that residents receive nourishment tailored to their unique health requirements, enhancing overall wellness and supporting recovery. By delivering nutritious meals, these dietitians significantly contribute to improving physical health and facilitating healing for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct nutrition assessments for patients within designated time frames, gathering and analyzing relevant data based on evidence-based practices.
  • Document nutrition care plans in patient records, summarizing assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and goals. Monitor progress towards these goals post-implementation.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary care meetings and discharge planning, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care.
  • Perform nutrition diagnoses by identifying issues and clarifying causes in conjunction with the medical team.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition intervention plans, including enteral and parenteral nutrition recommendations.
  • Review and approve therapeutic diets to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assess and evaluate dietary techniques considering the diverse needs of age-specific populations, as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic factors.
  • Collaborate with and supervise dining service staff to ensure accurate diet prescriptions and high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain precise records of daily clinical activities as required.
  • Participate in the training and orientation of new dietitians and DTRs, serving as a mentor to dietetic students and interns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
