Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Business Education Teacher to join our team at Alexandria City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching business-related courses to high school students and providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement district-approved curriculum for business-related courses, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Administer assessments and track student progress to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve the community in the educational process.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe and respectful learning environment, managing student behavior and ensuring a positive classroom culture.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve instructional practices and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in business education.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid Virginia Department of Education license required, or eligibility to obtain one.
Clearances and Compliance
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance: Required for all employees.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test: Required for all employees.
  • Public Health Compliance: Must follow safety and health protocols.
