About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist I to join our team at UNC Medical Center's Children's OR. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist surgical teams during procedures, utilizing your knowledge of UNC instrument nomenclature and anticipating the needs of the team.
  • Set up and maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to UNC policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the reprocessing program, ensuring the proper handling and cleaning of instruments.
  • Document results of sterilization and maintain accurate records.
  • May also perform training activities, including assessing training needs, developing instructional materials, and conducting training sessions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • One year of experience as a Surgical Technician in a comparable environment.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterilization techniques.
