Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the care of patients undergoing surgical intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Set up and maintain the operating room according to UNC methods, ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
  • Follow safe practices and observe strict sterile technique, checking supplies and instrumentation for sterility and proper use.
  • Participate in reprocessing and restocking the operating room, using supplies judiciously and maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Document results of sterilization and maintain accurate records.
  • May also perform training activities, including assessing training needs, developing instructional materials, and conducting training sessions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • One year of experience as a Surgical Technician in a comparable environment.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position, working rotating shifts. The operating room is a fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
