POSITION OVERVIEW
This remote role is dedicated to providing comprehensive auto claims support to clients through various communication methods. Operating within established guidelines, you will be responsible for investigating, assessing, negotiating, and adjusting straightforward to moderately complex auto injury claims presented by or against policyholders. Your responsibilities will include verifying coverage, determining liability, and settling claims fairly while adhering to all relevant state and regulatory standards. You will work with minimal supervision to resolve issues and complete assignments. Your goal will be to deliver exceptional service in every interaction by setting clear expectations, maintaining proactive communication, and demonstrating empathy. This position also offers the chance to utilize your leadership and conflict resolution skills as you assist customers throughout the claims and repair journey.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver top-tier claims service by establishing clear expectations and maintaining proactive communication.
- Provide claims assistance through various internal channels (phone, fax, email, mail) to policyholders and third-party clients.
- Take ownership of and adjust soft tissue and moderately complex bodily injury claims, including PIP/Med Pay, UM/UIM, and personal liability claims, along with all related auto physical damage.
- Identify, verify, and make coverage determinations on soft tissue to moderately complex claims.
- Investigate incident details, assess legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within the defined authority parameters.
- Document your thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions clearly.
- Manage your assigned claims workload effectively, keeping policyholders and involved parties updated with timely claims status reports.
- Collaborate with team members to address issues and identify matters that require escalation.
- Serve as an informal resource for less experienced team members.
- Develop and apply foundational knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance products, services, and processes, including policy contracts and claims handling procedures.
- Exercise discretion in business relationships and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Assist with workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 7+ years of experience in auto liability/casualty adjusting, with a focus on both attorney-represented and non-attorney-represented bodily injury claims.
- Possession of a current global auto adjuster license or the ability to acquire and maintain state adjuster licenses.
- Solid understanding of auto claims contracts and the application of relevant case law, state laws, and regulations.
- Ability to mentor and assist in training new adjusters.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a courteous manner consistently.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts easily to changes in processes and systems for overall organizational improvement.
- Detail-oriented and accurate in work.
- Capable of multitasking and learning new technologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Insurance designation.
- 5+ years of experience in bodily injury claims handling.
- Experience in medical bill review.
- Familiarity with Guidewire Claim System is a plus.
- Knowledge of CCC/Mitchell/Audatex estimating platforms.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
