Job SummaryWe are seeking a Caregiver/Direct Support Professional to join our team at Sevita. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness, and behavioral challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct care and support to our participants, enabling them to live a full and independent life.
Key Responsibilities- Support Participants with Daily Living Activities: Assist participants with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
- Encourage Independence and Participation: Support participants in developing skills and participating in activities that promote independence and community integration.
- Provide Emotional Support and Stability: Offer emotional support and stability to participants, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviors.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors, to ensure that participants receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Document Progress and Needs: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress and needs, ensuring that all relevant information is shared with the team.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: No experience required, but a willingness to learn and grow is essential.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
- Vehicle: Valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance required for day and evening shifts.
