The Senior Injection Molding Process Specialist is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of all injection molding processes within contract manufacturing. This role involves collaboration with various departments and clients to ensure effective execution of qualification activities. The specialist also plays a crucial role in supporting production by mentoring and training process technicians in their daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust and consistent molding processes utilizing scientific molding methodologies.
- Recommend and execute modifications to molds, equipment, and processes aimed at boosting productivity and maximizing efficiency.
- Investigate process development challenges and implement corrective measures to enhance Design for Manufacturability.
- Troubleshoot issues related to molding and manufacturing processes as well as material challenges.
- Collaborate with both internal and external resources to address molding and manufacturing concerns, implementing long-term solutions.
- Research, develop, and apply manufacturing process controls, machinery enhancements, and improvements.
- Create and maintain operating procedures and instructions to ensure standardization in production.
- Provide insights on new or alternative materials for cost reduction or molding enhancements.
- Offer technical assistance and support to the production floor in resolving issues, employing systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis, including repair and modification of existing tooling and processes.
- Engage in root-cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts related to product and/or tooling challenges, providing necessary technical input and support.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings through Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience in injection molding processes.
- Experience with scientific molding techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
- Familiarity with CAD Software (SolidWorks & AutoCAD) is preferred.
- RJG certification is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with secondary operations qualification.
- Familiarity with MRP systems, such as IQMS or similar.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
- Proficient in software tools: Microsoft Office, Minitab, Project, AutoCAD.
Compensation:
We offer competitive market compensation. The potential salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000, with actual pay determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
