Job Summary:
Mercy Clinic Whiteside is seeking a Primary Care Assistant to join our team in Internal Medicine. As a Primary Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for visits by completing advanced standard room processes, including entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies, and completing medication reconciliations.
- Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
- Schedule follow-up appointments as needed, per office policy.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical care teams to monitor and coordinate delivery of care plans.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA).
- LPN licensure.
