Project Engineer I Job Description

A leading General Contractor is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer I to join their team. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of large-scale commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project managers and field supervision staff to ensure project safety, direction, and completion.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, including estimating, value engineering, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Facilitate the bid process, including processing, distribution, and tracking of project documentation.
  • Negotiate subcontractor and material buyouts, and develop and negotiate subcontracts.
  • Plan and schedule projects, manage jobs in progress, and ensure quality and safety on every job.
  • Manage project costs, including labor, material, and equipment, and forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits.
  • Perform project closeout and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior co-op or internship experience in the construction field is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
