About the Role

HR Green is seeking a highly skilled Building Inspector to join our team. As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections of commercial and residential buildings to ensure compliance with International and local Building Codes and regulations.
  • Apply knowledge to detect structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing code violations or other building-related code and ordinance violations.
  • Establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, contractors, architects, engineers, owners, and the general public.
  • Manage the execution of assigned municipal projects and ensure compliance with building criteria.
  • Develop and maintain standards for construction methods and materials, and oversee the inspection/observation of all public and private buildings for compliance with local, state, or federal codes.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in all phases of modern construction practices and building codes.
  • ICC Residential Building and ICC Commercial Building Inspection Certification required.
  • ICC certified Plans examiner preferred.
  • A valid CA Driver's License with a good driving record.
