VCI is currently seeking an onsite full-time construction Inspector at our West Palm Beach, FL. VA EHRM Infrastructure Upgrade.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal Construction apprenticeship program.
  • Educational requirement may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
  • Verify the quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Note deficiencies and deviations from plans; refer serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to Chief, Projects.
  • Maintain, update, and assure the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation, and project files.

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittals logs, etc.
  • Field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: $80,000-$90,000
