Welcome to this exciting opportunity to join our team at WVU Medicine. We're looking for a skilled Patient Care Technician to work on 6 South, providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

This role involves performing non-professional direct and indirect patient care activities, including personal, physical, and comfort needs of patients, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. You will work closely with licensed medical staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Prior patient care experience is also highly desirable.

The core duties and responsibilities of this role include observing and reporting patient concerns and changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately, assisting with admission, transfer, and discharge, and recording vital signs and other patient information. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, and reporting any necessary equipment repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Working Environment:

This role requires working in a fast-paced hospital environment, with frequent exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases. You will also be working with electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment.
