Mental Health and Addiction Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Nurse (LPN) to join our team at our detox facility in Massachusetts. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of substance abuse and mental health illness, with the ability to provide treatment consistent with professional care standards.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position that involves working closely with patients to ensure their physical and emotional well-being during the recovery process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-admission screenings for patients requesting admission to our facility.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient charts, including nurse's notes, medication records, and other essential documentation.
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments on patients admitted to our facility, in accordance with industry standards.
  • Monitor patients' medical conditions and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Evaluate and document identified medical problems and report them to the Medical Director or on-call staff physician in a timely manner.
  • Participate in case reviews and in-service training programs to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Deliver patient education sessions on addiction, health maintenance, and related recovery topics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • At least one year of experience in nursing, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Current LPN License in Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within three months of hire.
