Job Title: Acute Care Nurse for Older Adults

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

About the Role:

As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients and families to deliver care that supports older adults facing acute illness. Our focus is on maintaining function, providing education, and maintaining safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 5 medical patients per shift
  • Work with the interdisciplinary team, including a unit-based Nurse Practitioner, attending and consulted physician, pharmacy, physical therapist, and other assistive personnel
  • Engage in a genuine relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients and families as well as with your peers

Requirements:
  • BSN required
  • ADNs candidates are required to commit to obtaining BSN within three years of the date of hire and can be considered with relevant experience
  • Qualified applicants will have at least one year of experience
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with the older adults
  • Gerontology Certification preferred
  • BLS required
