About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at SSM Health Dean Medical Group. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mammography imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and perform various mammography-related procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
- Prepare and position patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters to optimize image quality.
- Explain procedures and educate patients about the importance of regular mammography in preventive breast health, promoting patient understanding and compliance.
- Develop and evaluate images for technical quality, adhering to established standards and guidelines.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents, maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or graduate from a certificate program in radiography or a related field.
- No prior experience required, but a strong foundation in radiography principles and practices is essential.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
- ARRT-R Radiography certification.
- Radiographer, Licensed certification.
- ARRT-M Mammography certification.
Work Environment
- Constant standing and walking, with frequent use of vision and depth perception.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech, with occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
