Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
Your primary focus will be on developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. You will work closely with our planning and design staff to ensure that product design and tooling meet our production needs.
In this role, you will also be responsible for conferring with vendors to determine product specifications and arranging for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. You will evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards, and estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Key Responsibilities- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
- Work closely with planning and design staff to ensure that product design and tooling meet production needs
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
- Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, or two to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, and Gemba events
- Experience with Auto-Cad or ProE (6 months or more)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
