Job Summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Sleep Specialist. This role will involve providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in-center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and direct patient education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct sleep studies and provide comprehensive patient care
  • Prepare and set up sleep study equipment
  • Perform sleep study procedures and provide oversight to other sleep center staff
  • Train and mentor sleep technologists and technicians
  • Resolve patient problems and perform quality checks
  • Meet quality assurance standards and participate in ongoing education and training
Requirements
  • Associate degree in sleep technology and/or respiratory therapy emphasis in sleep technology
  • Current certification by a nationally recognized certification board (RST, RPSGT, or SDS)
  • Current license in the State of New York
  • Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience as a registered technologist
Work Environment

This role is based onsite at Cayuga Health System. The employee will be required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee may be required to walk, sit, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
