This position entails overseeing the daily functions and personnel within the Metals Section of the laboratory.

Summary

The responsibilities of this role are essential for maintaining the laboratory's operational integrity, including goal setting for staff and ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise laboratory operations and personnel
  • Manage analytical equipment for the section
  • Conduct data analysis to inform operational enhancements
  • Support critical system audits
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Engage in research initiatives and adopt innovative methodologies
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for clients
  • Assist in the preparation and management of budgets

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software
  • Proficient in data analysis and effective communication
  • Ability to manage change and foster employee development
  • Knowledge of regulations and supervisory practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of NIMS/ICS 300 and 400 training
  • Relevant certifications in wastewater laboratory analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related discipline
  • Five years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles

Conditions of Employment
